I took a chance on hybrid...

...and I had so much fun! I am definitely going to have to do more of this. It has just the right amount of digital and traditional for me. The layout above was done on the computer except for the stitching, flowers, and journalling (which I messed up on.. sigh..).

But I really liked how I was able to do the entire layout at home without any trips to the store to buy specific paper, or embellishments. I designed a layout on my computer, printed it out (it is 8x8.. my favorite size to scrap) and was also able to print out all the coordinating papers that I needed to create the paper ruffle and flowers! I had the buttons already in my collection, and was happy that this layout all came together so easily and quickly!

I really would recommend trying scrapbooking hybrid style!

I used the Aimee Collection from DHD for this layout.

hybrid freebie...makes me happy

I love freebies {well, I actually just love designing.. so why not share the love?} and I absolutely adore hybrids. So I magically put the two together... and this is what popped out. beautiful.

Its made from my collection, tu es jolie, which is really about taking a unique look at the beautiful things of life. And, while I was designing this collection, I was reminded of all the wonderful, beautiful people that have influenced me deeply in my life, and decided to make up a fun hybrid card to send to them in gratitude. So I am going to print it multiple times and send it off to some dear people that I very much love. And, I hope you do the same.

The file format is a jpeg, all set up on a 8.5x11 sheet - ready to print! Its really easy to make. All you do is print 'n cut.. and then glue the flower together. {the brad and strawberries are not included}

sneak a little peek...

at what is coming out tomorrow at DHD - tu es jolie collection - which, lovingly translates into, you are beautiful. I had a lot of fun designing it and am trying to be more creative when it comes to my color palette. red, yellow and blue might not seem too original (...hmm...) but I had never done it before.. and, gotta say, I love it. But pick it up thursday and get it 30% off!

oh... and a freebie is coming your way tomorrow. And, guess what? it is a hybrid freebie.. that makes life better, doesn't it?

well, as you can tell by the collection being released, I am in the - i.am.dreaming.of.summer.mood... hopefully it will warm up and stay warmed up very soon.

Hello there...

... guess what? spring break is over. sigh. It wasn't long enough {two full weeks, that is} and I'm not even the one who had to go back to school today. I am pretty sure that our student doctor was more excited for the break to be over than he was for it to begin. I guess I should be happy that he enjoys his school.

but, for only taking a week off of designing, I sure have found myself more than a week behind. So, I guess it is up to the late night creativity magic this week. But, my blog was feeling lonely and kept calling out to me... and I also had the urge to scrap my beautiful little miss schmutz' easter fun with my new easter egg hunt collection for DHD.

isn't my little miss getting big? ... but... I sure do love my kiddo... she's the most enjoyable child out there... just ask her parents or grandparents - they're not bias.at.all.

a freebie to keep the smile on your face...

...while I am very neglectful of my blog this next week. But we are going to be doing a lot of fun things, so hopefully I will have a lot to post about after next week. But, for now, I will send you off with a fun, and helpful Journaling Stamps.

But, the pictures above were taken last weekend as we enjoyed the sunny weather. Little Miss Schmutz loves to pretend she is driving, and has even figured out how to lock and unlock the car doors. She was having so much fun, especially since her Daddy was sitting in the passenger side, pretending along.

The freebie includes 4 .png files and an .abr file.
